Mang Inasal

Favorite kong manok ay yung buttered chicken ng Aroma (sa Tondo lang ata meron nito) dahil malalasahan mo talaga yung malinamnam na flavor nya. At ang thigh part chicken ng KFC dahil sobrang ma-juice and yummy. Hindi ako mahilig sa Grilled chiken dahil ayoko ng sunog ang balat and ayoko ng dry. My malaking branch ng Mang Inasal sa Makati Ave kaya nacurious ako kung ano meron sa grilled chicken nila.

Sabi ni payat kapag lunch time ay sobrang dae ang kumakain dito at sobrang jampack ang tao. Buti nalang at may tatlong lamesa na available kaya nakaupo kagad kami ni payat.

Nacurious ako kung ano ang laman nung bote sa gitna. Sa Yellow Cab meron silang chili oil na makikita mo ang dinurog na pepper pero sa Mang Inasal ay oil lang talaga. Kinuha ko ang spoon, pinatakan ko ng oil at sabay tikim. Ngek bakit ganun, lasang mantika lang at hindi maanghang. Tinawag ko ang waiter para tanungin kung ano un bote sa gitna, ang sabi nya chicken oil daw. Hmmm.., ano kaya purpose ng chicken oil? Siguro para hindi ma dry yung grilled chicken nila. Malalaman ko to sa susunod kung ano purpose ng chicken oil.

Naks naman paborito kong number.. 28. Sabi kase eto daw ang maswerteng number parang seiko wallet ang number na mswerte.

Ayan at hinatid na ang inorder namin. Hmmmm nakakatakam ang amoy ng chicken. May kalakihan ang chicken at ang sabi ay unlimited rice daw. Hiniwa ko ang chicken, hmmm.. infairness ma-juice at malasa. Hindi sunog ang balat at hindi nakadikit ang laman sa buto. Hindi naman ako gutom nung araw na yun pero naka isa't kalahati akong kanin. (kaya ako nananaba eh armpf..)

Eto ang inorder ni payat. Sa maniwala kayo't sa hindi, maliit lang ang barbeque pero naka tatlong rice si payat.. hahahaha.. antakaw mo pero bakit hindi ka tumataba.

French Baker

Nung college ako, madalas akong dumayo sa San Andres Bukid para lang bumili ng palabok na nilalagyan ng hot sauce. Taga Tondo ako pero nagtya-tyaga akong bumyahe papunta dun para sa paborito kong spicy palabok. Weird ba? Ganun ako kasipag at katyaga basta usapang pagkain.

Bicolana ako at mahilig ako sa maanghang na pagkain. Sa totoo lang, ang nanay ko ang pinanganak sa Bicol at ako ay sa Tondo pinanganak pero mas Bicolana ako sa kanya.

Kapag oorder kami ni payat ng pasta, minsan nilalagyan ko ng paminta oh kaya ay tabasco para ganahan ako kumain. Kung ang iba ay humihiyaw na sa hapdi ng dila or nagwawala na habang umiinom ng tubig sa sobrang anghang ng kinakain nila, kami hindi. Ako at si payat kaya naming ubusin ang maanghang na pagkain na walang inuman ng tubig. Iinom nalang kami kapag naubos na namin ang kinakain namin. Did i mention na si payat ay Bicolana din? Now you know kung bakit matakaw kami parehas sa spicy food.

My nag suggest samin na itry namin ang Spicy Seafood Pasta ng French Baker. Hinding hindi daw namin makakalimutan ang lasa dahil pagpapawisan daw kami sa sobrang hot ng pasta. Sige nga at ma try ang pinagmamalaking pasta, hmmmmm...

Pasta in red pepper-infused tomato sauce, topped with calamari, fish, shrimp, and mussels, served with your choice of grilled foccacia or garlic toast. Choose your pasta: spaghetti, white fettuccini, or green fettuccini.

Ang pinili naming pasta ay white fettuccini. Unang tumikim si payat, pagkasubong pagkasubo nya ng pasta dali dali akong nagtanong: "Ano maanghang ba payat?" Hindi nakapag salita kagad si payat at tinignan lang ako. Syempre nacurious ako at inagaw ko ang tinidor kay payat. Pagkasubo ko ng pasta.. Uhmm Uhmmm GRAVECIOUS ANG SARAP UMUUSOK ANG AKING TENGA.. THE BEST!! Eto na ang paborito kong Seafood pasta, number 2 nalang ang Seafood Medley ng Chef de Angelo.

Umorder din kami ng Chocolate Shake na may chocolate ice cream on top. Tamang tama sa pagtanggal ng hapdi ng dila at umuusok na tenga namin ni payat.

Sa mga mahihilig sa spicy food, i recommend na i-try nyo ang Spicy Seafood Pasta. At try nyo din ang spicy palabok sa San Andres Bukid, nakakaaddik sya!!.. yum yum..

Venetto Pizzeria Ristorante

Usapan namin ni payat at ni master ay kakain kami sa Banchetto sa Ortigas. Yun nga lang ay 12 midnight pa ang simula. Magkikita kita kami sa Makati at bibili ng regalo si master para sa family nya. Gutom na kami kaya naisipan namin ni payat na wag nalang sumama sa Banchetto at maghanap nalang kami ng makakainan sa Glorieta.

Nung gabing yun, hindi namin alam kung ano ang hinahanap ng aming panlasa. Hanggang sa lumabas nalang kami sa mall para maglakad uli. May nakitang red and green light si payat sa may gilid ng mall at sabi nya sakin: "tara tignan natin kung anong kainan yon". Sagot ko kay payat: "ako ba niloloko mo, baka 711 yan payat". Dali dali kaming lumapit sa tinutukoy ni payat na red and green light.

Parang isang ordinaryong kainan lang sya pero ang nakakapag taka ay jampack ang mga tao sa loob. Venetto Pizzeria Ristorante, isang Italian restaurant. Pumasok kami at naghanap ng mauupuan. Isang lamesa lang ang bakante at nasa sulok pa. Wala kaming choice ni payat kundi doon nalang pumwesto.

Mahilig si payat sa seafood pasta or kahit anong pasta na may shrimp. Inorder namin ay Oil and Garlic with Shrimp Php 255 and A Veneto Famili Platter Php 275.

Chicken wings together with Crabsticks, cheddar munchers and frenchfries. Sa mga platter na inorder namin ni payat noon, masasabi kong eto lang ang big serving na affordable ang price. Usually ang mga platter eh nsa 300+ tpos good for 2 person lang sya, as in kabiten but not here in Veneto.

Oil and Garlic with Shrimp. Sobrang daeng shrimp, siguro isang kilo ng hipon ang nilagay nila jan. Sa mga naorder naming seafood pasta sa ibang restaurant, talagang mabibilang mo lang sa isang kamay ang hipon nila. Pero dito sa Veneto, nagutom kami ni payat kakabilang kaya sinimulan nalang namin sumubo ng pasta. Nakakatuwa pa ay good for 2-3 person sya kaya hindi namin naubos ni payat.

Sobrang busog at tinake out nalang namin ni payat yung natira naming pagkain. Babalikan namin ni payat etong pizzeria para tikman ang iba nilang pagkain lalo na ang pizza. wink* wink*
